
All the 49 chiefs from Nairobi province are now technologically savvy, thanks to an intensive two-week training carried out recently at the computer for Schools Kenya, off Mombasa road, in conjunction with E-Government.
Speaking at this historic graduation Mr FT. Kimemia, the PS Provincial Administration and Internal Security, congratulated the officers dubbing them e-chiefs who were well on the course of the contry’s realization of the vision 2030.
He urged the chiefs to embrace their new role with zeal, saying now they will be the governent’s crucial link at the location level in disseminating information.
The PS pointed out that through the training the chefs were better equipped to deal with issue such a cyber-crime a new threat to security within the urban areas.
Monthly reports will be made through email adding that it will make such reports timely for offering quick response to issues. This would result in quality service to wananchi.
At the end of the two weeks training each chief was issued with a refurbished computer for ue in the office, and a modem worth Sh8,000.
The chiefs will also receive technical support for a year to ensure their proficiency in computer use.
The pilot program as carried out for all Nairobi area chiefs, and will be rolled out to other officers across the country.
